India plans to ban six kind of disposable plastic products

According to Indian government officials, six kinds of disposable plastic products, including plastic bags, cups, plates, straws, small bottles and packaging, will be banned nationwide from October 2, 2019 .This is expected to reduce India's annual use of 14 million tons of plastic by 5-10 per cent. The first six months of the ban will be the adaptation period.

In a speech on India's independence day on August 15, Modi urged people and government agencies to "take the first step" towards the goal of zero disposable plastic products from October 2, and planned to completely eliminate the use of disposable plastic by 2022. Now,polythene bags have been banned in some parts of India.
